Large post 4to., pp viii, xvii, [i] blank, 19-1391, [1] blank. Early full brown calf, neatly rebacked at some time, original red letter-piece, raised bands with gilt rules, marbled endpapers, yellow edges. The odd light fox spot in the text, a few other minor age faults. A fine copy with wide margins. John Bacon was Receiver of the First Fruits in the office of Queen Anne's Bounty. This work was originally published by John Ecton as Liber Valorum et Decimarum at London in 1711. It went to seven editions, the best being the one published as the Thesaurus Rerum Ecclesiasticarum in 1754. Bacon changed the title to Liber Regis and published it as his own work 'without even revising Ecton's preface' Dictionary of National Biography.
